Putting together the pieces to make the farming operation work in economically challenging times is a goal at Chris Mathis Hay and Cattle where “Diversification” is key to our success in yielding a quality product and utilizing what our land has to offer. Owner-operators Chris and Paula Mathis invite you to Chris Mathis Hay and Cattle, home to 200 registered Angus, Brangus and Charolais cows plus a herd of high quality black hided commercial cows. A thriving hay business with 700 acres of coastal Bermuda, Bermuda mix, fescue and rye grass is a busy piece to the “Diversified” program. The newest development at Chris Mathis Hay and Cattle is the on farm Boondocks Hunting Preserve that utilizes some of the woodland and otherwise less productive farm land. Pheasant, quail and chuckars are home raised, guaranteed to fly and to provide recreational enjoyment on guided or self-guided hunts in season.
